The holiday was set on December 25, although the exact date is unclear in history. The earliest Christmas celebrations can be traced back to the Roman Empire in 336 AD. After Constantine the Great declared Christianity as the official religion of the Roman Empire, Christmas gradually became an important religious holiday.
In ancient times, Christmas was celebrated in church, singing Christmas carols, and holding religious ceremonies. Over time, the holiday gradually absorbed elements of different cultures and formed many of the traditions we are familiar with today.
Traditional activities to celebrate Christmas

Different countries have their own unique ways of celebrating. In the UK, people hang up Christmas stockings on Christmas Eve and wait for Santa Claus to deliver gifts; in Australia, Christmas is in the summer, and people go to the beach to celebrate; in Japan, Christmas is more regarded as a holiday for couples, and couples will spend this romantic night together.
